Born in 1971 and got into scooters whilst I was in school in the 80’s. my dad and me stripped, resprayed and reassembled my first scooter in 1987. The day finally came and off I went on my pride and joy, shortly to come home having folded it half by falling off and hitting a car coming the other way. Some of you will know full well that the scootering gods have hated me from that day on, as I’m mostly seen in laybys swearing at Lambrettas.
My first scooter club was the Hampshire Mutineers, after and since then I have been a member of Portsmouth Road and Track (P.R.A.T), London Vikings and currently now in the mighty Dorset Lowriders. I’ve attended national rallies all over the UK and euro rallies in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany and been lucky enough to make so many good friends.
My dad was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and since then I’ve also lost my aunt. I’m doing this ride for them and everyone else who is, has or will battling this horrible disease that strips you away.
I’m looking forward to the ride and look forward to meeting friends old and new along the way. I’m not looking forward to the sore arse though.
See you along the way, Beef
